Synopsis -
The Valhalla music festival commemorates a long-ago Viking slaughter, but when strange things start to happen it seems the massacre may be far from over. When festival-goers begin to disappear, and musicians find themselves playing mysterious and ancient songs as if possessed, the fans have to figure out what’s going on before the festival site’s haunting past comes back for blood.
Review -
I received this book through my Night Worms subscription and was immediately taken by the great cover artwork. To my delight, there was more art to be found on the inside, giving it a bit of a comic book vibe. In terms of appearance, this is one that I'm delighted to add to my collection.
The story itself was certainly a cool idea, with the Valhalla Festival taking place on ground with a less than pleasant history.
Clocking in at a touch over 80 pages, this was a quick read and one that left me feeling slightly underwhelmed. I would love to have seen the story expanded and perhaps a little more bloodshed along the way.
Still, it was a well written story that I essentially got through in a single sitting. It would have been 3.5 for the story, but the art inside elevated things a touch. You can nab your copy HERE.
